Dolphin Class

This is all about Dolphin class

  Dolphin Class Teacher: Heather Jones

A big hello to everyone. I am the teacher in Dolphin class, as well as the creative arts coordinator. I am also the staff governor for the school.

I studied at the University of Plymouth and I hold a BA Hons in Steiner Education, which is a holistic and inclusive approach to teaching and lifelong learning.

I started my career working at a Pupil Referral Unit on the island as an inclusion tutor as well as supporting pupils in their reintegration to main stream schooling. I then completed the Graduate Teacher Program and secured a position at an Island school where I have been teaching for six years.

Working at Medina House School is a dream come true and I love my job! I feel truly privileged to be a small part of your children’s school journey.

Dolphin Class Teacher: Tricia Jones

I studied at the University of Worcester gaining a BA Honours in Early Childhood Studies before I ventured onto a Graduate Teacher Programme here on the Isle of Wight gaining my Qualified Teaching Status. This followed from working as a learning support assistant at a special needs school where I found my love for teaching.I have now been teaching on the island for 16 years across the whole primary range.
I have always been passionate about Early Years and the majority of my teaching has been in the EYFS or Key Stage 1. I enjoy planning around the children’s interest and supporting them to engage in their learning. I have also been an Early Years Lead and English Lead.
I was delighted when I was offered the role of maternity class cover teacher as I am returning to EYFS and doing what I love best!

My Teaching Assistants are:
